Dorchester's first SK8 Jam

Dorchester's Skate Park, opened in May 2009, was instantly judged to be a great success and one of the top skate parks in the country. What makes it special is that it was designed by skaters and handcrafted in concrete to their design.

There are open bowl areas, rollovers,lots of transitions and a street area with a stair set and ledges.

Skateboarders, BMX bike riders and in line skaters are coming from all over the county to use it. On 19th September a SK8 Jam and BMX event with prizes for each category, refreshments, live entertainment and an active travel and skate/cycle safety promotion was staged at the venue.
