Businesses will benefit directly from:
The Business Plan was arrived at after an extensive consultation. Dorchester BID Directors and staff held over 100 face to face meetings with individual businesses. Via an interactive process the DBID website allowed business owners in the BID area not only to suggest projects but also to vote for their favourite projects every month a facility pioneered by and unique to the Dorchester BID. A series of meetings were held including a general public meeting to discuss possible projects followed by three themed public meetings and these were open to all businesses in the BID area and to the general public.
The picture below is a snapshot of the online voting process during the consultation period.
Dorchester was the first BID town in Dorset and its success has been noted by neighbouring towns so it was important to build upon the success of the first 5 year BID.
