’Tis the season to be jolly at Brewery Square! Christmas has arrived, and there are plenty of festive treats waiting to be enjoyed. Here’s what’s happening in the square this season.

The celebrations begin with the Brewery Square Christmas Lights Switch-On, taking place on Saturday 29 November, from 5:30pm to 7pm. It’s the perfect way to mark the start of the festivities.

But the fun doesn’t end there. On 11th December, the square will stay open for late-night shopping, with stores welcoming visitors until 7pm. Alongside the festive atmosphere, you can enjoy exclusive goodies from participating shops, sip complimentary prosecco and listen to a special performance from The Rock Choir at 6pm. And while you’re soaking it all in, don’t forget to take a spin on the ice rink!

Hosted by the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce, the Dorchester Christmas Cracker is back and it’s bigger and better than ever! Following the success of previous years, this much-loved Dorset Christmas market is expanding with more stalls, more venues and even more festive cheer as it takes over the town.

This year’s event will see the Christmas market spread across the Corn Exchange, Dorset Museum & Art Gallery, Cornhill, South Street, Trinity Street and High West Street, bringing the whole of Dorchester alive with seasonal sparkle.

The Poundbury Christmas Market is back! Celebrate the holidays in style at Crown Square on Saturday 29 November 2025, where you’ll find a charming selection of locally made, one-of-a-kind gifts.

There’s plenty for families to enjoy as well, where little ones can experience some Christmas magic with a special visit to Father Christmas at Boo’s Toy Shop.
