This month, Dorchester is excited to welcome back the popular Dorchester Walking Festival!

The 2025 walking festival is the perfect chance to explore some of the most stunning routes our wonderful county has to offer, as it features a diverse range of trails, including historic paths and those rich with unique stories. These routes range from leisurely strolls to challenging hikes, so there’s a path for every pace and every explorer looking to get active and discover hidden treasures in Dorset’s heritage.

Every walk is guided by experienced, knowledgeable volunteers dedicated to making your adventure as enjoyable and memorable as possible. Dorchester’s Walking Festival features many spectacular walks in and around Dorchester, with some walks expanding out to places along the Jurassic Coastline. Whether you’re looking to explore the surrounding picturesque villages, adventurous tracks, winding country lanes or steep grassy tracks, the festival’s exciting line-up offers something for everyone.

Dates & Times

The Dorchester Walking Festival is running from 10th to 18th May 2025 throughout Dorchester and the Jurassic Coast. Tickets & Prices

Dorchester Walking Festival - Maiden Castle

Tickets must be booked in advance for all walking routes in the Dorchester Walking Festival. Tickets for routes range from £0 to £15, depending on the walk and experience. Please visit the Dorchester Walking Festival Eventbrite to get your tickets for the walking events.
