Easter Events & Activities For All The Family In Dorchester

From Easter egg hunts to local craft markets, there is something for everyone, especially those who are fond of chocolate! Here is a rundown of Easter themed events in Dorchester Town Centre in 2022.
Shire Hall Easter Market
Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th April – FREE ENTRY
Shire Hall are hosting their first Easter Market! Free to enter, the market will host over 20 local businesses, selling everything from food and drink to jewellery and photography.

Eggsplore Shire Hall
Monday 11th – Friday 15th April – Included with normal museum entry fee
Eggsplore Shire Hall with the kids this Easter – see if you can ‘Count your chickens’ on the Easter Shire Hall museum trail and enjoy a range of family Easter Craft activities.
Kids for a Quid! No booking necessary, just hop in! Please note: Shire Hall is closed on Easter Sunday.
Easter Art-efact Trail at The Keep Military Museum
Monday 11th – 22nd April
During the Easter Holidays, The Keep Military Museum are hosting an Art-efact trail! Do your best drawings of objects on display in the galleries, and be in with a chance to win a Keep Military Museum goodie bag! As well as A Chocolate Tin Craft – a fun workshop to create your own replica WW1 chocolate tin.

Easter Artyfacts at Dorset Museum
Tuesday 12th April and Thursday 14th April
Create your own mini art and craft masterpiece to take home. Inspired by Dorset Museum’s collection and Special Exhibitions, our volunteer-led craft activities are fun and creative.

Roman Town House – Spring Tours
Wednesday 13th April & Wednesday 20th April – £18 – booking required
Guided tours of the Roman Town House, Dorchester are back this month! Trained guides will take you through the history of the site, including an opportunity to enter the covered building, as well as a look at the precious artefacts recovered and now on display at Dorset Museum.

Easter egg hunt at Brewery Square
Friday 15th – Monday 18th April – FREE ENTRY
The 4 day annual Brewery Square Easter Egg Hunt returns from Good Friday to Easter Monday. Make your way around Brewery Square and and search for the hidden eggs. When you’re finished, return your completed form for a FREE Easter prize!

Easter Afternoon Tea at Shire Hall
Friday 15th – Monday 18th April – £12.50 – booking required
Treat yourself this Easter weekend with a delicious Afternoon Tea at Shire Hall! According to the Shire Hall the afternoon teas will include a ‘selection of finger sandwiches, scone with cream and jam, a range of seasonal treats and lemon posset, as well as a cheeky glass of fizz and a cup of tea’. Sounds delicious!

Mad Hatter’s Stories and Games at Brewery Square
Saturday 16th April – FREE ENTRY
Head to Brewery Square on the 16th for story telling, garden games, and Easter activities! Story Teller Lizzie Bryant will be entertaining families with her Easter Themed story telling and performances.

Mad Hatter Cocktail Party at Brewery Square
Saturday 16th April – £35 – booking required
Brewery Square are joining forces with Dark Bear Bar for Brewery Square’s first ever Mad Hatters Cocktail Party! Learn all about the process of creating cocktails. Just 20 seats are available so you’ll need to be quick to book!
