Christmas Events In Dorchester 2018
Wednesday, November 21st, 2018Christmas is right around the corner and Dorchester has plenty of events happening during the festive period. From the Family Santa Fun Run to Skating In The Square, there’s something taking place in Dorchester this Christmas for everyone to enjoy!
Dorchester Christmas Cracker
Celebrate the start of Christmas in Dorchester with the highly anticipated Christmas cracker event! Mark your calendars for Thursday 6th December for a night not to be missed. Enjoy a programme of eight events that take place throughout the evening. These include the Christmas Craft Faye, Judge Santa, South Street Christmas Market, Rock Choir Concert, Lantern Parade and Light Switch On at St Peter’s Church. To complete the evening there will be a performance by the Rock Choir.
Family Santa Fun Run
Get together, dress up as Santa, and participate in Weldmar’s Santa Fun Run. This year is expected to have the biggest turn out to date! Run through the streets of Dorchester, build up that Christmas appetite and enjoy endless smiles and laughs with loved ones. The event starts at the Dorchester Rugby Club at 11:00 am, 2nd December.

Christmas Time At Brewery Square
Christmas Time at Brewery Square is a fantastic event that includes many festive activities, food and drink. There will be live music, performances, Skating In The Square’s ice-staking rink and plenty of Christmas lights. There’s even opportunity to meet Santa in his grotto. All proceeds from the event will be generously donated to Julia’s House Children’s Hospice.

The schedule for the evening is as follows:
- 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm: Brass band
- 5:00 pm – 5:30 pm: Live performances start
- 5:40 pm – 6:25 pm: Live music with special guest singer
- 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm: London Gospel Choir
- 7:30 pm – 8:00 pm: Father Christmas Disco
Christmas Time At Brewery Square is on Saturday 24th November.
Skating In The Square
Slide into the Christmas spirit in style with Brewery Square‘s Skating In The Square. From 25th November, there will be a dedicated outdoor ice-skating rink, which can be enjoyed by all members of the family. So head on down for a fun filled evening.

Meet Santa’s Reindeer and Santa’s Grotto
Santa and his Reindeers make a final pit-stop at Brewery Square just before delivering presents in time for Christmas day. Take the children to meet Santa and his elves between 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
Brewery Square Presents
Take part in an evening of festive fun with Brewery Square Christmas Presents. From 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on 20th December, enjoy snuggling up with loved ones watching Christmas films on Brewery Square’s giant screen. You can expect to see Christmas favourites such as The Snowman, Michael Buble tribute by Freddie Jenkins, and The Snowman and The Snowdog. Just make sure to bring your blankets and wrap up warm! Mulled wine and chestnuts will be available in the surrounding kiosks.
Christmas Lights Switch On
Come and enjoy both Buttermarket Square in Poundbury, and Brewery Square in Dorchester, as they burst into Christmas spirit with their Christmas Light Switch on. Head on down with the family for an evening of festive fun. The lights will be switched on from 24th November, 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm for Brewery Square. And 30th November 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm for the Buttermarket.
