Free Outdoor Events in Dorchester this Summer at Borough Gardens and Maumbury Rings
Thursday, June 22nd, 2017Summer 2017 sees some fabulous free events outdoor in Dorchester for all to enjoy. The grandstand of Borough Gardens will be busy throughout July and August with some great live music and Maumbury Rings plays host to a number of theatre and outdoor performances.
Borough Gardens
As well as music highlights including performances for Armed Forces Day, Swingtime in the Gardens and traditional British brass bands, you can expect to find many festivities taking place in the idyllic Borough Gardens.
Love Parks Day on Wednesday 26th July and local fundraiser Warm Festival on Sunday 30th July are the perfect excuse to relax on the lawns with friends and family. These popular days packed full of fun family activities, music and performances. Attracting thousands of people from all ages and backgrounds, One World Festival at the beginning of August is a lively celebration of cultural diversity in Dorset featuring world music and cultural activities.
The Dorchester Cider Festival returns to Borough Gardens for a third year of fun on Saturday 19th August. This is a free family festival offers some of Dorset’s finest cider producers, great food and bands throughout the day and into the evening.
Maumbury Rings
Dorchester Arts are putting on a series of outdoor theatre events at Maumbury Rings. Book your tickets and come along with chairs, blankets and a picnic and soak up the atmospheric surroundings. Grab some popcorn and snuggle up under a blanket for the outdoor cinema on Saturday 12th August. The films showing are “Jungle Book” and “Dirty Dancing”.
To wrap up the summer there will be an End of Summer Festival at Maumbury Rings over the August Bank Holiday weekend. This three-day celebration will end with a day of music on Monday 29th including A Listers, Blackwater Country, Diniwe and the Hadedas, Hardy and the Monuments, Outlander and Set Adrift.
