Your Guide to Dorchester Carnival 2017
Wednesday, May 24th, 2017The Dorchester Carnival is on … and the date for your diary this year is Saturday 17th June 2017.
The theme this year is “A Night at the Movies” so here is your opportunity to don your favourite Hollywood film star costume and take part in the carnival fun.
Starting at 3.15pm on Saturday there will be a Majorettes competition in Brewery Square – so why not head on down to the Square and watch a battle of the baton twirlers!

There will also be a Silent Disco from 7pm and plenty of films and live music showing all day.
If you are able to lend a hand on the day – the Carnival organisers are still looking for volunteers that can help with marshalling and supervising the procession. If you can help email carnival.dorchester@gmail.com and they will let you know all of the details.
Floats will assemble in Fairfield Car Park from 2.30pm, judging at 3.30pm.
Dorchester Carnival Procession 2017
Judging of those entering the Carnival as walking groups will take place at Brewery Square in the Fountain Area at 4pm. After the judging, the entrants will make their way back to Fairfield Car Park ready to move off with the procession.

The carnival procession itself starts at 5.30 pm from Fairfield Car Park and makes it way around Dorchester town, finishing back at Fairfield about an hour later.

There will be charity stalls in South Street during the day.
Dorchester Four Legged Race – Friday 16th June
In true tradition the Dorchester Round Table will be leading the 4 Legged Race around Dorchester on Friday evening. Why not grab a couple of friends, some silly outfits and stumble your way around Dorch – we’re pretty sure that there will be a couple of drinks stops on the way round too ;0).
The fun starts from the Colliton Club, Colliton Park at 7pm.

The carnival is always a fantastic event in Dorchester’s calendar – we look forward to seeing your there!
