No Excuse For Abuse 2013 Event in Dorchester
Friday, January 25th, 2013The West Dorset and Weymouth and Portland Domestic Violence and Abuse Forum is hosting a free day-long event in Dorchester next month on the subject of domestic violence and abusive relationships, called No Excuse for Abuse.
The information sharing event will take place on Friday February 15th, from 8.30am to 2.30pm at South Walks House, the new West Dorset District Council offices in Dorchester. The aim of the event is to raise awareness of domestic violence, and find ways to improve the effectiveness of the support services available for victims.
The event is open to anyone, but is aimed specifically towards those who are affected by domestic violence or who deal with it in a working capacity, whether in the voluntary, public or private sector.
The event will be attended by a range of different local organisations, who will share information and advice for how to best combat violence and abuse in relationships. Some of these organisations will be giving talks throughout the day, times and details of which can be found in the event programme.
Car parking is available in Charles Street (short stay only), or at the market ground car park (long stay).
Anyone who would like more information should contact Emma Scott at WDDC.
