Antelope Walk – Transformation For Historic Dorchester LocationWednesday, July 15th, 2020
Over the past 12 months a transformation has taken place in one of Dorchester’s most historic locations, Antelope Walk. With over £50,000 of investment, the Walk has seen unit refurbishment, roof repairs, exterior upkeep and exterior re-painting in beautiful Farrow & Ball paint.
New businesses in Antelope Walk
The Walk is steeped in history and was once at the centre of what was Roman Dorchester. You can see that the cobbled walkway itself was once a road. The recently opened Court House Bistro forms a bridge over the ancient road. This charming location is now home to a selection of charming and quaint retail spaces, filled with character but restored with all modern conveniences.
Repairs and maintenance of the historic buildings took place during lockdown. This extensive work included exterior redecoration of each individual unit.
Recent businesses to take up the opportunity of trading in Antelope Walk include CW Hats and Accessories. A beautiful new shop offering a range of hats & accessories for special occasions. SA Treasure Jewellery, a family run jewellers with over 20 years experience has also recently opened.
Commercial units available
Lending itself perfectly to small businesses, independent boutiques, local food producers, start-ups and incubator units; Antelope Walk offers competitive rents and short term deals. Many of the units benefit from small business rate relief until April 2021 due to COVID-19. There are a limited quantity of high quality commercial units available to let with affordable rent offers available including short term deals. So if you’re thinking of setting up a new business this could be a great time to do it!
With two new tenants taking up residence during lockdown, Antelope Walk is set to become a hub of up and coming businesses. We can’t wait to see it become a top retail destination for independents in Dorchester.
