Dorchester at Christmas 2020 Community Film
Monday, December 14th, 2020The new community film Dorchester at Christmas 2020 is released on 17th December 2020. We think it makes an ideal gift this year!

The film features carols galore, favourite poems, children singing and all the sights and sounds of Dorchester. An uplifting festive film to enjoy at the most wonderful time of year.
Free for those who need it most
The Hospital, St Joseph’s Hospice, care homes and other institutions in and around Dorchester will have the film delivered to them for free thanks to the generosity of the project’s sponsors who have given help in cash and in kind: Alacrify digital marketing, Brewery Square, Casterbridge Chiropractic, Dorchester BID, Dorchester Choral Society, Dorchester Town Council and Grassby Funeral Service.
As Sophie from Montrose Care Home says,
“Thank You very much for thinking of us. Christmas will certainly be very different this year for our residents so this will definitely bring us some high spirits.”
Raising money for local charities
But the organisers also want to raise some money for local charities and you can help. Go along to Dorchester Post Office in Trinity Street, to Goulds in South Street or to the Garden Centre in Poundbury. They have kindly agreed to stock the film for you to buy for a minimum donation of £5.00. Proceeds will be split equally between Dorset County Hospital Christmas Appeal, Weldmar Hospicecare, Dorchester Poverty Action, Dorchester Family Support and Home-Start West Dorset.
Emma Scott, from the Town Council, commented:
“The project and film of Dorchester at Christmas 2020 celebrates so much that is good about our town. Literally hundreds of local people have got behind the project as contributors and sponsors or by promoting it and selling it. I know that lots of Dorchester folk will enjoy watching it and it would be lovely to be able to give a bit extra to such worthwhile local charities. So please come out (safely), buy the DVD, give generously and have a happy Christmas at Dorchester 2020.”
