Bid Members – Cast your Votes Now!
Wednesday, February 20th, 2013
As has been recently reported in the Dorset Echo, the Dorchester BID has introduced an online poll to find out which of the ideas proposed by the BID to improve the trading environment in the town centre are most important to its members.
We’ve put forward 20 very different ideas, ranging from information boards for visitors to a BID-branded bike hire service. Each member gets 10 votes, and can cast them however they wish. The proposals with the greatest number of votes will be the focus of our energies and funds (in addition to the existing projects that members wish to continue with) if the BID is given another 5 years at the re-ballot later this year.
To cast your votes, simply log in to the http://dorchesterdorset.co.uk/ website and select the proposals you feel would most benefit your business and the town centre as a whole. Those unable to access the internet can call Phil Gordon at the BID office on 07799 494886 and request a paper voting form.
The vote closes at the end of February, to give us time to incorporate the winning ideas into the new BID plan for the next term.
Currently at the top of the leader board is the proposal to introduce free wireless broadband for all comers in the town centre. Anyone connecting to the free wi-fi would be taken initially to the BID website or another Dorchester-related page, meaning there would be ample opportunity for promotion of local events and businesses. Whether you are in favour of this or another proposal, please do use all your votes if you want to make a difference to the future direction of the BID!
