DorchLive 2021 – A Summer of Great Music
Thursday, September 9th, 2021DorchLive 2021 made a welcome return this summer to offer live music in Dorchester town centre.
For six weeks weeks outside The Last Post on the corner of South Street/New Street, the sound of great music played. Giving both locals and visitors some much-needed good cheer and atmosphere to accompany the Saturday shop.
A range of different acts provided live musical entertainment to the town’s shoppers in two 1.5 hour performances at 11am & 1:00pm on Saturdays.

£600 raised for local charity projects
Although DorchLive was not planned to be a charitable series of events, the kind donations from the public meant that local charities will benefit.
Phil Gordon, Project Director at Dorchester BID commented:
“Despite making it clear to the public that the acts were fully paid for by Dorchester BID on behalf of the levy payers of Dorchester, many people loved the music so much that they insisted giving donation money.
From these kind contributions we have collected a staggering £600 which we’ll be using to make a donation to the chosen charities of Gareth Jones, The Mayor of Dorchester.
The two charities are a new community café and shop in Trinity Street, under development by a team from Mencap Mid-Dorset and the GAP Project, a community garden in Lubbecke Way.”

We hope everyone enjoyed the acts this year – which performances did you see?
