Free parking across all WDDC car parks
Thursday, December 23rd, 2010
West Dorset District Council are spreading more than salt this Christmas season.
With a scattering of seasonal good cheer WDDC are offering FREE car parking across all their car parks on Thursday 23 and 24 of December 2010.
After all the challenging weather conditions those kind ladies and gentlemen at the council are keen to get things moving again and encourage shoppers back into the town to finish off their Christmas shopping.
Of course anyone can park today, get their voucher and spend in the shops supporting the parking voucher scheme. To have FREE parking today is a real bonus to help make up for the poor conditions the weather has delivered.
The Dorchester Parking Voucher scheme is looking like being a massive success too and I have had so many shops ask me to extend the pilot that we are now going to continue it into January at least. If you are not in the scheme and want to join in just let me know (although you will have to wait for your window stickers till Jan now, we an still put you on the website list).
There is one proviso – parking is limited to 4 hours.
A big thank you to everyone involved from Wessex FM, the Dorset Echo, the people and local traders, the DBID (with support of the Dorset Chamber of commerce).
Happy Christmas everyone.
