Keeper of the Walks gets his hands on the latest cleaning Barrow
Wednesday, March 6th, 2013
If you’ve seen our Keeper of the Walks out and about in Dorchester in the last couple of days, you may have noticed his new toy – a souped-up barrow with a vacuum attachment to make it easier to clean those hard to reach areas. The new barrow has been provided by the Dorchester BID, in partnership with our friends at West Dorset District Council.
Our Keeper, John, took on the role before Christmas, and has been doing a great job of looking after the town centre and ensuring a clean and smart trading environment, something he’ll be able to do even better now with his new contraption!
John is an easy man to spot in his hi-vis jacket – if you see any litter about, you can point him in the right direction and he can sort it out right away. Alternatively, you can call our dedicated grime hotline on 01305 252401 and leave a message for John to pick up.
As part of his role John has also been giving directions to visitors and pointing out places of interest of interest in the town for them to visit – much like our Dorchester ambassadors. The ambassadors themselves will be back on the beat over Easter, so look out for them in the car parks, where they’ll be directing visitors to vacant parking spaces and handing out leaflets on the local area.
