Social Media – New Workshop Announced!

Friday, February 10th, 2012

Our challenge this week for our Twitter followers was to tweet us four words that they felt best described Dorchester. We’ve combined the results here as a Wordle graphic. What do you think? Does it give a good reflection of the town?

We love Twitter, as we think it’s a fantastic way to communicate with Dorchester folk and keep in touch with what’s going on in and around the town on any given day. We started tweeting as @dorchesterbid in 2009, and since then we’ve seen a great little Twitter community spring up in Dorchester, with lots of our businesses jumping in with both feet and using it as a platform to spread news, make connections, and just have a bit of a chatter.

Last year we ran some very successful social media training workshops, split into level one introductory classes for beginners and level two classes for those slightly more familiar with social networking.  This year, we’re introducing a level three ‘Twitter Master Class’, for businesses, organisations and individuals who want to go beyond the basics of Twitter and really use it to its maximum effect.

The seminar will be held on March 14th at the Wessex Hotel, and once again it’ll be run by Key Multimedia. Get in touch with us if you’re interested on 07799 494886 or email philg@dorchesterdorset.co.uk
