Vote for your Favourite Shops and Businesses in Dorchester
Tuesday, July 21st, 2015
Have you ever wanted to shout about your favourite shop/business in town?
The Dorchester BID is running a competition to help give recognition to the businesses that you most enjoy visiting in Dorchester. Most people recognise the importance of having a healthy high street on their doorstep and in a world of on-line purchasing, what still draws people to visit a town centre?
One of the obvious things is the whole ‘shopping experience’ another is the invaluable experience and insight that some businesses can offer a customer perhaps helping to avoid making a bad purchase or discovering a totally different solution which works better for them. One of the other key factors often mentioned in surveys about the on-line vs. High street shopping is the importance of ‘what happens next?’ or after sales service and support.
Whatever the factors are for you when shopping, Dorchester has a proliferation of specialist, independent businesses mixed with both traditional and new high street brands – Perhaps it’s time to celebrate the outstanding examples, raise the bar a little and even help some who might need to improve their customer experience?

Wanting to encourage as many votes as possible, the DBID have put together a rather nice prize package for two for the lucky winners which includes
- a fine dine evening meal,
- a night in a top Dorchester hotel with breakfast,
- mid-morning coffees,
- a fabulous lunch and afternoon cream teas,
- a brief guided walk from our award winning town crier and local historian Alistair Chisholm,
- finally, a golden ticket for two giving unlimited entry to all 7 museums and exhibitions in town.
