Platinum Jubilee Celebrations in Dorchester

The nation is gearing up for the 2022 Platinum Jubilee Celebrations and Dorchester is no exception. There’s a fantastic choice of things to do for all ages taking place around Dorset’s county town.

Here’s a round-up of Jubilee events in Dorchester on the lead-up and during the special extended bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 June 2022. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime landmark event!

Age UK The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Event

Tuesday 31st May, 1:30pm – 3pm, Dorchester Cricket Pavilion

Celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a delicious Cream Tea from the fabulous Elm Vintage Teas, followed by Melodies For Memories and a chance to win something from our lovely raffle. Tickets are £5 and you can book your place by contacting Age UK Dorchester.

Dorchester Half Term Kids Jubilee art sessions

Wednesday 1st June, 1-3pm or 3-5pm, United Church

Enjoy some Half Term arty fun in Dorchester! Whether it’s flags or bunting, you can create your own masterpiece to celebrate The Queens Platinum Jubilee. There will be free tea and coffee for grown ups, as well as yummy cakes available too!

Jubilee Family Fun Day at Borough Gardens

Thursday 2nd June, 11am, Borough Gardens

Join in the family fun at Dorchester Borough Gardens for a Jubilee Celebration Party for all ages. A host of free entertainment will include:

Punch & Judy
Face Painting
Bungee Run
Inflatable Challenge Game
Royal themed arts and crafts
Royal Treasure Hunt with prizes

The Kiosk in the Gardens will be open, selling a range of tasty ice-creams, hot and cold drinks and snacks. There will be also be a cream tea stand with all profits from purchases made going to charity.

Jubilee Beacon Lighting Ceremony

Head to Salisbury Fields on Thursday 2nd June for a special Jubilee Beacon lighting ceremony from 9pm.

Jubilee ‘Party at the Palace’ Concert

The fun continues at Borough Gardens on Saturday 4th June with the Jubilee ‘Party at the Palace’ Concert being shown on the big screen from 3pm.

Brewery Square’s Jubilee Party

Saturday 4th July at 12pm & Sunday 5th July at 12pm, Brewery Square

Join Brewery Square and celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in style! Taking place over both Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June 2022 with live music, British delicacies, crafts, performances, Platinum Party TV Broadcast, and more!

Fordington Community – Jubilee Celebrations

Saturday 4th June & Sunday 5th June, Fordington Green

Join the fabulous community spirit on Saturday 4th on Fordington Green with fun for all the family with live music and afternoon tea at St George’s Church. As well as a street party at Salisbury Fields on Sunday 5th – simply turn up and bring your own – tables and all!

Queen’s Jubilee Celebration Picnic

Sunday 5th June, from 12 noon, Pavilion in the Park

Celebrate the Queens Jubilee on the great field on Sunday 5th June with a wonderful community picnic! There will be live music and lots of different arts and crafts to try at our completely free community event.
