Summer Events at the King’s Arms, Dorchester

Tuesday, June 30th, 2026 The Kings Arms Dorchester

The King’s Arms is one of those pubs you feel right at home in. Step through the double doors off the high street and you’re met with the warming smell of home cooking drifting out from the kitchen, homely decor on the walls, and staff who welcome you in like you’ve just arrived back somewhere familiar. It’s a feeling that’s hard to fake.

It’s no surprise, then, that the King’s Arms is one of Dorchester’s favourite pubs. Locals and visitors rave about the food, frrom generous Sunday roasts to a proper breakfast, and the comfortable, well-appointed rooms make it a lovely spot to stay too.

But it’s not all great food and good cocktails. There’s plenty going on at the King’s Arms this summer, so if you’re after something fun to do with friends in Dorchester, these are well worth a look. Here’s the rundown.

Father’s Day Weekend

Treat your dad to some proper quality time over a homely meal and drinks all round. The King’s Arms is putting on a Father’s Day weekend where you can spoil him with his favourite steak (cooked just the way he likes it) or a hearty roast with all the trimmings. Seatings are limited, so it’s best to book a table in advance to be sure of a spot.

Weekly Events at the King’s Arms

Thursday Pop-Up Bakery

Kings Arms Hotel Pop-up Bakery

A staple of the King’s Arms for years. The pop-up bakery, run in partnership with sister company The Chapel in Bruton, comes to Dorchester every Thursday from 9am to 2pm. Expect a spread of treats and savoury delights, from fresh loaves of bread to dreamy cupcakes and pasties. Get there early for the best of the range. The locals know it’s good, so the bakes tend to get swept up fast. You’ve been warned.

Little insider hack: order 24 hours ahead and your stock will be set aside, so there’s no need to rush to the front of the queue.
