Saturdays Sound Better in the Town Centre

Dorch Live Music 2026

There’s something special about a summer Saturday in Dorchester. The cafés are buzzing, the independent shops are full of visitors, and this year there’s another great reason to spend time in the town centre – Summer Live Music @DorchLive is back.

From 18th July through to 5th September, a fantastic line-up of talented local musicians will be performing live outside The Pickle Jar on South Street, bringing the soundtrack to your summer shopping trips, coffee catch-ups and family days out. Each artist will perform two 1½-hour sets at 11:00am and 1:00pm every Saturday, making it easy to catch some live music while exploring everything Dorchester has to offer.

A Different Sound Every Saturday

This year’s programme offers something for every musical taste:

  • 18 July – Dorian String Quartet – Light classical music and well-loved melodies.
  • 25 July – Emily Jean – Soul favourites blended with contemporary classics.
  • 1 August – Under the Hill – Bluesy, folky acoustic rock.
  • 8 August – Dr Jazz – Smooth, easy-listening jazz.
  • 15 August – Stickleback Jack – Classic hits from the 60s right through to today.
  • 22 August – Hannah McFarlane – Beautiful solo cello performances.
  • 29 August – Alfie Neale – Disco, soul and pop acoustic covers alongside original songs.
  • 5 September – Talia – A vibrant mix of pop, soul, jazz and musical theatre.

Whether you’re picking up a coffee, browsing Dorchester’s fantastic independent shops, enjoying lunch with friends or simply soaking up the summer atmosphere, the live performances provide the perfect backdrop to your visit.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to discover talented local musicians while supporting the town centre businesses that make Dorchester such a vibrant place to visit.

The Summer Live Music programme is fully funded by Dorchester businesses through the Dorchester BID, helping to create a welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.
