Remembering Will, Continuing His Energy
The #Willdoes charity is dedicated to the memory of William “Will” Paddy, a sporty, charismatic young boy who grew up near Swanage, Dorset. Known for his cheeky smile, sensitivity, and empathy for others, Will loved being active and outdoors – enjoying horse riding, snowboarding, rugby, tennis, and spending time around animals.
Although Will’s life tragically ended at just 14 years old, his energy, kindness and spirit live on through the charity founded by his mother, Les, and through the many people who continue to support its work.
Supporting Young People’s Wellbeing Across Dorset
At its heart, #Willdoes exists to support young people who may be finding life tough or struggling to cope with everyday challenges.
Mission Statement
The charity aims to promote:
- Education
- Physical health
- Mental health
- Social inclusion
By contributing financially to charitable projects and creating safe, supportive environments, #Willdoes helps young people across Dorset and surrounding areas build confidence, resilience, and meaningful connections.
A key focus is encouraging young people to engage in sport, activities, and social interaction, helping them develop coping mechanisms, manage anxiety, build trust, and form positive relationships – offering alternatives to retreating into isolation through gaming or social media.
The #Willdoes Community Bus – A Safe Space on Wheels
One of the charity’s most impactful initiatives is the #Willdoes Community Youth Bus.
Based at the Main Beach car park in Swanage, near the skate park, the double-decker bus also travels to communities across Dorset including Portland, Weymouth, Dorchester, and rural villages where youth provision is limited.
- £10,000 to purchase the bus
- £106,000 invested to fully kit it out
On board, the bus provides:
- A safe space to talk
- A private room for confidential discussions
- A bean bag chill-out area
- A small kitchen offering drinks and snacks
- Bright furnishings, LED lighting, and a welcoming atmosphere
The bus enables young people to connect with youth workers, counsellors, and medical professionals, creating access to support in places where it’s needed most.
A Huge Thank You
